Technology
New technology has been incorporated into our practice to improve safety, comfort, and diagnostic capability for our patients. The staff and I continue to take continuing education courses to ensure your treatment and care are efficient and up to date.
Communications: E-mail and texting confirmation
Contacting our patients has changed over the past few years with more people opting for mobile phone, texting and emails for communications. We’ve adapted to improve your access to us by responding to texts and emails to confirm appointments. For those who prefer the telephone, we have kept that method for you.
Digital x-rays
Digital radiography is a new X-Ray technology that eliminates the use of film and environmentally harmful chemicals. With digital x-rays you won't have to wait for an x-ray film to be developed. The image is immediately available on a computer monitor in your treatment room.
More importantly, digital radiography exposes you to up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film x-rays. It's much safer than the old technology. The digital images can be enlarged and allows you to see what we do, helping us demonstrate and explain your treatment plan. This technology allows us to communicate with our specialists quicker by allowing us to emailing images instantaneously.
Digital impressions
We are continually updating our technology to make the best choices for our patients comfort, time and superior final results. We have reduced the need for putting the impression material for the vast number of cases. With the iTero digital scanner we have made the impression step of the treatment much easier and accurate. Your desire for easier cosmetic procedures for crowns, bridges, implants and orthodontics has been answered with iTero.

Soft Tissue Diode Laser
The soft tissue diode laser allows us to perform many surgical and periodontal procedures with more efficiency and comfort. Lasers are commonly used in medicine for various procedures. They have the advantage of providing treatment that is gentle to gum tissue and results in excellent healing. The laser is used to provide improved results in cosmetic procedures, removal of overgrown, diseased gum tissue and in conjunction with scaling and root planning procedures results in a more rapid and improved healing of the gum tissues.
Itero Digital Scanning
The digital iTero scanner has revolutionized the way dentists diagnose, plan treatments, and present options to patients. Here's a detailed breakdown of how it's used in each of these aspects:
Diagnosis:
- Accurate Impressions: The iTero scanner captures highly detailed digital impressions of the patient's teeth and surrounding oral structures. These impressions provide a precise representation of the patient's dental anatomy, allowing dentists to identify issues such as misalignments, malocclusions, and structural abnormalities.
- Real-Time Visualization: With the digital scanner, dentists can view the scanned images in real-time on a computer screen. This immediate visualization enables them to identify potential problems quickly and discuss them with the patient during the appointment.
- Comparative Analysis: The iTero software allows dentists to compare current digital impressions with previous scans, providing valuable insights into any changes or developments in the patient's oral health over time. This comparative analysis aids in tracking progress and monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing treatments.
Treatment Planning:
- Virtual Treatment Simulation: Using the digital impressions captured by the iTero scanner, dentists can simulate various treatment outcomes virtually. By manipulating the digital models, they can demonstrate potential changes in tooth alignment, bite relationship, and overall smile aesthetics. This virtual treatment simulation helps patients visualize the proposed treatments and understand the expected results before any procedures are performed.
- Customized Treatment Plans: Based on the digital impressions and virtual simulations, dentists can create personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Whether it involves orthodontic treatment, restorative procedures, or cosmetic enhancements, the iTero scanner provides the necessary data to design precise and effective treatment protocols.
- Collaborative Care: The digital nature of iTero scans facilitates seamless communication and collaboration between dentists, orthodontists, and other dental specialists. Dentists can easily share the digital impressions and treatment plans with colleagues, enabling multidisciplinary teams to collaborate more effectively in complex cases.
Patient Presentations:
Visual Communication: Instead of relying on traditional physical models or 2D images, dentists can present treatment options to patients using dynamic 3D visualizations generated from iTero scans. These interactive presentations enhance patient understanding and engagement by providing a clear and comprehensive view of their dental anatomy and proposed treatments.
- Informed Decision-Making: Armed with detailed digital impressions and virtual treatment simulations, patients can make more informed decisions about their dental care. They can see the potential benefits of various treatment options, understand the associated costs and timeline, and actively participate in the decision-making process alongside their dentist.
- Improved Patient Experience: The use of iTero scans and digital presentations enhances the overall patient experience by minimizing discomfort associated with traditional impression materials, reducing treatment guesswork, and fostering a sense of confidence and trust in the dentist's expertise and recommendations.
In summary, the digital iTero scanner plays a pivotal role in every stage of the dental care journey, from diagnosis and treatment planning to patient presentations. Its ability to capture accurate impressions, facilitate virtual simulations, and enhance communication empowers dentists to deliver more precise, personalized, and patient-centered care.
